The University of Toronto (U of T) and University of Illinois System (U of I) is hosting a joint call for proposals to provide matching seed funds supporting collaborative research initiatives and activities.  

The call is open to proposals in the following areas:   

  • Mobility  
  • Data Science  
  • Climate change and sustainability   

Teams led by Early Career Researchers are encouraged. 

Eligibility: 

  • Faculty members in continuing U of I and U of T appointments from all disciplines are eligible to submit proposals. 

Funding:  

  • The funding envelope is $55,000 USD from U of I and $75,000 CAD from U of T. 
  • Between three and five successful proposals will be selected for funding for 1 year.   

Timeline:  

  • Call for proposals open – September 16, 2024 
  • Deadline for submission of proposal – November 18, 2024
